Baseball Rolls to Second Lopsided Win at Combine Academy

LINCOLNTON – Christ School varsity baseball still needs to find some middle ground, between winning big and losing close games.

Not that one half of that dilemma is ever a problem.

Three doubles off the bat of Patrick Robichaud ‘27 were part of a four-hit, five-RBI afternoon for the junior and the Greenies had 17 hits overall in Wednesday’s 21-4 road win over the Combine Academy varsity team.

Henry Tutera ’28 tripled early on, matched Patrick with five RBIs, and was 3-for-5. Will Ray ’27 went 3-5 with three RBIs, Wells Alderman ’26 went 2-5 with three RBIs, and Abram Graning ’28 singled in both of his at bats.

Cam Walker ’28 scattered three runs (all earned) and three hits in a three-inning start. He struck out four Goats and walked two.

Christ School (2-2) led 13-0 after two innings on the way to its second mercy-rule win of the season, both on the road. With Thursday’s win, the Greenies evened their record at .500 after back-to-back losses by one run to Charlotte Providence Day and Providence Academy (Tenn.).

The Greenies close out the week Friday at home against SouthLake Christian Academy. The first pitch is at 5 p.m.
