Sidewinder Alex Cocklin ‘27 came in late Tuesday to shut the door on Rabun Gap (Ga.).
Even with the bases loaded, Alex kept deceiving the Eagles with his motion and location until the very end, earning a save with three strikeouts in the seventh inning.
Alex and two other pitchers limited Rabun Gap to four hits and Christ School managed all but one of its runs in the first three innings of a 6-4 win that clinches at least a share of the Carolinas Athletic Association championship.
Henry Tutera ’28 and Will Ray ’27 led the offense with two hits, with RBIs coming from Wells Alderman ’26 (two), Will and Abram Graning ’28.
Jack Ray ’26 pitched the bulk of the regular season’s final home game for the Greenies (16-8, 3-0), yielding four runs (three earned), four hits and five walks with one strikeout.
The conference championship is the first for Christ School baseball since 2023 with a chance to be sole champions with a win Thursday at the Eagles (18-8, 2-1). Game time is 5 p.m.
