SWANNANOA – Nineteen unanswered runs will break open any and every game.
It was close until it wasn’t Tuesday at Asheville Christian Academy – Patrick Robichaud ’27 and Henry Tutera ’28 each drove in four runs and doubled twice, while Will Ray ’27 and TK Wright ’27 matched them with three hits in Christ School varsity baseball’s 22-3 road win.
The first Carolinas Athletic Association game of the season for the Greenies (10-5, 1-0) was tied after three innings. Christ School’s 13 runs in the sixth inning, compounded by five ACA errors, was more than enough to end the game early for the mercy rule.
Will and his brother, Jack ’26, each had three RBIs, while TK and Cade Graning ’26 added two apiece. The win went to Garin Gosnell ’28, who threw one inning of hitless, scoreless relief.
Christ School and ACA play for a second time Thursday at 5 p.m. in Arden.
