Balance, Defense Strong in Basketball's First Game Since Christmas Break

Little victories can be taken from every game, regardless of the result.

Christ School varsity basketball got everyone involved, everyone scored, and everyone went home happy Tuesday night.

The Greenies could not have asked for much better coming out of Christmas Break with wholesale substitutions throughout a 77-31 home win over an outmanned Carolina Day team.

Leading scorers in the 11th win for Christ School (11-3) were a trio of guards — Skyler Ellis ’27 (12 points), Micah Goodlow ’28 (eight), and Job Gresham ’29 (eight).

Trevor Manhertz ’27 has been lighting up social media in recent days with his recruitment by Duke, Indiana, and Louisville. Trevor and Dacen Petty ’26 added seven points apiece Tuesday, followed by Tyler Jones ’26 (six), William Robinson ’26 (six), Dylan Twitty ’27 (six), Koen Booker ’27 (four), Hudson Hatch ’28 (four), Kingston Whitty ’26 (four), BJ Houston ’29 (two), and Jeremy Horton ’26 (two).

Job and Micah each connected for two 3s in the first quarter, allowing Christ School to race out to a 22-10 lead. The margin was 48-20 at halftime and 68-27 at the end of the third quarter.

Tuesday was the 31st consecutive home win for the Greenies, who travel to Asheville School on Thursday. The JV game tips off at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6.
