ASHEVILLE – No one would have expected anything less than a perfect lob with the game Dacen Petty ’26 was having Thursday night.
The second half of the equation was Dylan Twitty ’27, who was ready to sky above the rim and give Christ School’s student section what it came to see.
An alley-oop on the final possession of the third quarter got head taps all around.
Dacen scored half of his game-high 24 points in the first quarter as the visiting Greenies ran away from Asheville School, 74-42.
The rest of the scorers for Christ School (12-3) were Skyler Ellis ’27 (10 points), Trevor Manhertz ’27 (nine), Hudson Hatch ’28 (eight), Kingston Whitty ’26 (eight), Dylan (four), Job Gresham ‘29 (three), BJ (three), Micah Goodlow ’28 (two), William Robinson ’26 (two), and Koen Booker ’27 (one).
Six different Greenies made at least one 3-pointer, including BJ, a Krieger Leadership Scholar, who is new to the team this year.
Christ School led 37-18 at halftime, picking up where the undefeated JV Greenies (8-0) left off in their game, a 59-27 win. Leading scorers were a trio of sophomores – Kiran Kudva ‘28 with 10 points and Daniel Bailey ‘28 and Price Udoetuk ‘28 with eight apiece.
The next game for each team is Saturday at home against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (JV at 1 p.m., followed by the varsity).
