Getting Involved
What is Greenie Parents?
ALL parents and legal guardians of present Christ School students are automatically members of the Christ School parent group – Greenie Parents. The objectives of Greenie Parents is to establish a helpful two-way communication between the parents of Christ School and the administration, to foster a relationship between each student’s family and the school that will benefit the student and help the school fulfill its mission, and to seek ways in which parents can be directly involved in making the students’ experiences at the school positive and productive.
Greenie Parents is a group of volunteers dedicated to enhancing student, family, and staff life at Christ School. Members are led by an executive team consisting of President, Secretary, Advancement Staff, Form Parents, and Committee Chairs that meet monthly. Greenie Parents activities and events are funded solely by donation. Parents and family members can be involved in many ways and may volunteer and choose on which committees they wish to serve.
Greenie Parents help promote Christ School to the general public, assist in securing financial support of parents for the school, assist in the recruiting of qualified students for the school, and in general, is an active and involved part of the Christ School community.
The governing body that directs the activities of Greenie Parents is the executive committee, consisting of one day parent and one boarding parent per form, all committee chairs, a secretary and co-presidents. Greenie Parents host general meetings on an as-needed basis virtually or on the Christ School campus and also coordinates the creation of various other committees that work to accomplish the objectives of Greenie Parents. The bulk of communication from Greenie Parents is via monthly Parent Letters sent by the parent representative for each grade which will include upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and general information. Additionally, parents are invited to join a GroupMe chat which is also set up by form.
