Zack Myers '23

Zack Myers ’23 is having a summer to remember on the track.

The rising freshman from Christ School became a national champion Tuesday at the USA Track & Field National Youth Outdoor Championships in Durham, N.C.

Zack won the 13-14 boys division pentathlon with 2,557 points. To do so, Zack took first place in four of the five events – the 100-meter hurdles (16.02 seconds), the shot put (39 feet, 9.75 inches), the high jump (5-5), and long jump (17-2.25). He was the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:56.09.

Previously, Zack medaled twice in the Junior High Division of the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet on June 14 in Greensboro. Medals were awarded to athletes who placed in the top-six of their chosen events, which for Zack was the long jump and triple jump.

Christ School has won back-to-back team state championships in track and field. Zack was part of the Greenies’ push for a repeat this spring.
