Soccer's 12th Win is Redemptive

MATTHEWS – Christ School varsity soccer exacted a triple helping of payback Thursday.

Felix Huebner ’26 stopped three shots and the defense held its form in front of the senior keeper for a 3-0 shutout at Carmel Christian. The same Cougars team that bounced the Greenies from the state playoffs a year ago, when they were coming back from a long layoff caused by Hurricane Helene.

Costa Barlas ‘26 completed Thursday’s scoring in the 74th minute and had two assists as well. Sophomores Davis Campbell ‘28 and Oliver King ‘28 gave Christ School (12-1-0) a 2-0 lead in the game’s first 41 minutes.

The Greenies have already won their most games since 2017. They are back home Friday for a 5 p.m. game against Metrolina Christian Academy (5-9-1).
