Christ School varsity soccer would have started every senior Tuesday if it were possible. The problem is only 11 players can be on the field.

The Greenies sent out a massive senior class with a season sweep of Asheville School, blanking the Blues, 3-0, on Senior Night.

Wells Edwards ’25 scored the first and last goals of the evening, sandwiched around the first of the season from Reeves Cates ’24, one of 12 seniors who were part of a pregame ceremony. Declan Szostczuk ‘26 gave out two assists, Wyatt Campbell ‘26 had one, and Felix Huebner ‘26 made three saves.

Christ School (8-8-1, 3-3) peppered the Blues’ net with shots all night. Wells had a good look from about 25 yards out and took the shot with 6:00 to go in the first half.  The only goal the Greenies would need Tuesday came off his left foot.

In the 44th minute, Reeves was careful to stay onside, with a burst of speed allowing him to catch up with a gentle pass from Declan. Finally, Wells came through again with 18:08 remaining. Again, he was just outside the box on a play set-up by Declan’s throw-in.

Along with Reeves, the seniors who played their final regular-season home game on Tuesday were Jake Jarrett ’24, Ethan Rose ’24, James Mennell ’24, Carter Compton ’24, Brendan Regan ’24, Patterson Dew ’24, Mason Atwater ’24, Luke Garner ’24, Tyler Thompson ’24, George Robbins ’24, and Bradley Campbell ’24.

Team managers William Paschall ’24 and Henry Warner ’24 are also seniors.
