Soccer Gets Back on Track with Shutout at ACA

SWANNANOA - Sprawling out Tuesday night, Felix Huebner ‘26 stretched his legs to deflect an Asheville Christian Academy shot.

Christ School varsity soccer and its dynamic goalkeeper served notice that the second half of Carolinas Athletic Association play might look much different than the first with a 2-0 road win.

Felix made four saves for the shutout. Eighth grader Dominic Rose ‘28 facilitated first-half goals from Bradley Campbell ’24 and Declan Szostczuk ’26. The second assist was an impeccable cross, taken from close to the sideline and put away for a header.

The Lions (6-4-1, 3-2) beat the Greenies (7-8-1, 2-3) by the same score on Sept. 8 in Arden, but they were on their heels for much of Tuesday’s rematch and had to contend with Felix, who was injured for the first game.

ACA plays the large majority of its home games in daylight hours. Tuesday’s game was moved to the school's football field since it is lighted.

Christ School returns home for next Tuesday's Senior Night game against Asheville School. The varsity game will begin at 6, following the JV game and a recognition of the Greenie seniors.
