RABUN GAP, Ga. – New look, same old Greenies.
Christ School varsity soccer broke out its new Nike jerseys Tuesday – the attire suited the occasion with first place in the Carolinas Athletic Association on the line. Along with new kits, the Greenies dealt with heavy traffic enroute to Rabun Gap, a weather delay once they arrived, and rain from that point on.
Sophomore Oliver King ’28 made all the hardship worth it with the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the previously-undefeated Eagles.
Tuesday’s game was the completion of one suspended earlier in September with the score tied 1-1 between Christ School (14-1, 5-0), and Rabun Gap (13-1, 5-1) in the second half. Wyatt Campbell ‘27 had the first goal and Costa Barlas ’26 assisted the game-winner from Oliver. Felix Huebner ’26 made five saves.
Rabun Gap is the four-time defending state champion in NCISAA 4-A soccer but has now lost back-to-back games to the Greenies (starting with a 1-0 game at Christ School in 2024). The Eagles are scheduled to come to Arden on October 8.
