Suddenly, a state championship looks like it’s there for the taking.

Christ School varsity soccer is only gaining steam for the NCISAA 4-A playoffs after sweeping its regular-season series with four-time defending state champion Rabun Gap.

True to form, the Eagles (14-2, 5-2) played fast and physical Wednesday night. The Greenies (16-1, 7-0) responded in kind. Their best game of the season and 15th straight win clinched back-to-back Carolinas Athletic Association championships.

Lyndon Bryan ’27 gave Christ School the only goal it would need with 18:42 remaining in the first half, putting his head on a ball served in by Wyatt Campbell ‘27. Costa Barlas ’26 put the Greenies up 2-0 with 25:49 left in the game, dribbling past two defenders for an open look.

Christ School has only given up five goals this season, and Felix Huebner ’26 (four saves) and the defense were in top form Wednesday.

“We were on fire tonight, the atmosphere was buzzing, it was awesome,” Felix said.

“(The defense) was a brick wall and did a great job shutting down their line. The energy they put into the tackles especially.”

The Greenies have put themselves in prime position to get the No. 1 seed for the state playoffs, barring an upset in Thursday’s Senior Night game against Asheville School. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m., following the JV game at 4.
