No one celebrated goals better in 2025, no one celebrated more.
Congratulations to Costa Barlas ’26 – the top scorer from Christ School soccer’s first state championship season – for his verbal commitment to NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
Costa’s decision means that he will continue to be teammates with Clayton Butler ’26 and Taz Kasambara ’26, two other NWACC commits.
“Costa is yet another attacking piece who can score goals, assist, and create in multiple ways,” Eagles coach Dean Johnson said in a social media post from the school.
That’s an understatement in many ways.
Costa made three all-state teams – NCISAA 4-A, N.C. Soccer Coaches Association, and HighSchoolOT – after leading the Greenies (20-1) in goals (18) and assists (11). The final two goals of his high school career came in the first half of the October 25 NCISAA 4-A state championship game. The Greenies won, 2-1, at Covenant Day to avenge their only loss.
