Greenies Place 6th in State Cross Country Meet

Team
The Christ School cross country team.

With only a single hill to climb, Charlotte’s McAlpine Creek Park is a cross country course meant for speed.

Christ School runners proved this design element to be true Saturday with an excellent individual and team showing at the NCISAA 4-A state meet.

The Greenies (163 points) placed sixth as a team, with Dawson Reeves '24 (fifth place, 16:19.10) and Jackson Burch '22 (ninth place, 16:44.30) earning all-state recognition for the first time in their careers. The rest of Christ School’s finishers were Jack Cross ‘22 (34th place, 17:53.30), A.J. Hesselson ‘22 (57th, 19:17.60), John Barton ‘25 (58th, 19:18.60), Matthew Luke ‘22 (60th, 19:35.70), and Rhodes Feild ‘23 (80th, 20:23.30). Every runner who finished ahead of Dawson was a senior and Jack's time was a personal best.

Saturday’s meet was the final one of the season for Christ School which was able to race eight times this fall. The Greenies placed third in the Carolinas Athletic Association meet held on their home course on Oct. 21. Dawson and Jackson were the first and second-place individuals, respectively.
