Emanuel Richards '23 to Play in NCAA Tournament

A champion here. A champion there. A champion everywhere!

Congratulations from everyone at Christ School to Emanuel Richards ’23 and Longwood University basketball for securing one of the first automatic berths to the NCAA Tournament. Emanuel and Longwood defeated UNC Asheville in Sunday afternoon’s championship finals of the Big South Conference Tournament, 85-59, in High Point, N.C. 

Emanuel had six points in the winning effort, a year after he propelled the Greenies to a NCISAA 4-A state championship. 

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound guard/forward from Irmo, S.C., was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team and averages 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. 

Brackets for the NCAA Tournament will be released March 17.
