Baseball Reignites Offense in Greenville


GREENVILLE, S.C. – Ethan Rose ’24 smoking a double down the right-field line to start the game was an auspicious start. 

Christ School proceeded to feast on Greenville (S.C.) Hurricanes pitching for 17 hits – 10 more than the seven combined hits in the Greenies' last three games – to win on the road Wednesday, 13-5.  

Freshman second baseman Corbin Spilliards ’24 gloved the game’s final out, making the throw over to first. He was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base out of the No. 8 spot in the lineup. No. 9 hitter Riley Shuler ‘26 was 2-4 with a team-high three RBIs. 

Will Walker ‘25 went 3-5 with an RBI and stolen base, Jakob Iwanek was 2-3 with a double and an RBI, and Ethan was 2-5 with the double and an RBI. Luka Rose ’25 drove in two runs with a double. The team batted around in the top of the first inning to lead 7-0.  

Christ School (6-2) used five different pitchers, with Pete Boatwright ‘25 getting the win. His line was 2.1 innings pitched, two runs (both unearned), two hits, two walks, and a pair of strikeouts. 

Weather permitting, the Greenies are scheduled to host Charlotte Providence Day (0-5) on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
