First Student and Residential Life Awards Given

Faculty nominations determine monthly winners

Five boys were recognized Friday with the school year's first Student and Residential Life Awards. Nominations were submitted by Christ School faculty, and winners were announced by Dean of Students Drew Hyche and Director of Residential Life Isaac Rankin during assembly in Pingree Auditorium.

Students of the Month: Ian Adams '21 and Cade Rodriguez '21 are freshmen whose positive attitudes were touted during Hyche's presentation. Ian was nominated by a faculty member for his hard work, constantly thinking outside the box, and because he is "a positive role model and polite to everyone. He knows no stranger. Ian is genuine and easy to talk to." Cade is "a driven student, a kind and gentle force in the Halls of Cunningham," another faculty member wrote. "He is consistently on task with all he does, tough, upbeat, and fearlessly attacks his cleaning responsibilities in the dorm."

Senior Leader of the Month: Joe deLoach '18 won the award based on the positive energy he brings to Harris House as well as the Honors Principles of Engineering and AP Computer Science Principles classes. "In the dorm and in class, Joe goes out of his way to put other people first," a faculty member wrote.

Roommates of the Month: Kevin Dunn '20 and Borden Sasnett '19 were recognized for their cleanliness, as well as participation in dorm wars and sports. Kevin and Borden are both members of the undefeated varsity football team. The Greenies improved to 3-0 with a 34-7 win at 13-time state champion Robbinsville on September 8. "They both have positive attitudes and are quickly becoming regular members of the Christ School community," a faculty member said.
