2016-17 Christ School Basketball Season Opens
Anticipation is high as the Christ School basketball season kicks off with a home game against Legacy Charter School on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.
The schedule for the 2016-17 season is the most difficult the program has ever seen, with six games scheduled against FAB 50 teams (a preseason list ranking the best 50 high school teams in the country) and three against teams ranked in the top 10 in the nation. The lineup includes defending National Champion Oak Hill Academy (1/27), National Runner-Up La Lamiere (2/4), and #8 ranked Hamilton Heights (2/3). "I have always been a huge believer in playing the most competitive teams we can find," says Head Coach Scott Willard. "I know our kids are excited and up for the challenge."
The Greenies, who were 23-8 last season, fell in the 3A NCISAA State Quarterfinals to High Point Christian. They look to improve on their up-tempo success this year. "This is one of the deepest teams I have ever coached. It is because of this depth that we can really look to push the tempo this year," Willard says.
