Jon Elmore '14 to Play Basketball

for Virginia Military Institute

Jon Elmore ‘14 committed to playing basketball for Virginia Military Institute on Saturday, October 19, following the family tradition - his father, Gay Elmore, was named Southern Conference Player of the Year in his final two seasons, and Jon’s older brother Ot is currently a freshman at VMI.

Jon said that he and his brother always dreamed of college basketball together. “Now we are going to be living the dream.” 

Elmore received a lot of attention from the coaches at VMI, and he explained that “the coaching staff is awesome, they had at least one coach at every game this summer.”

Elmore says that he will most likely play point guard. The Charleston, WV native is VMI’s first commitment for the 2014 team.
