A year-round commitment to rowing means training on a machine in the dead of winter.
The good news is Judson Meyers ’25 has a big spring and summer ahead of him. The junior from Asheville was notified last week that he has been invited to the US Rowing Under 19 Selection Camp in Chula Vista, Calif.
The three-week camp runs from July 10-31 with athletes then moving on to row in one of two competitions – the U19 World Rowing Championships in Saint Catharines, Ontario, or the CanAmMex Regatta in Mexico City.
Next weekend is the start to Judson’s spring racing season with the Asheville Youth Rowing Association. He excels in the classroom as well, having made Christ School’s Head of School High Honor Roll for the Fall Semester.
