Sweet Ball Jamal is going cross country.
Jamal Hutchison ’23 plays his college golf instate for N.C. Central University but will be flying to California later this month.
The Christ School alumnus has been selected for the 54-hole Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, part of the PGA TOUR’s Pathway to Progression program.
The tournament is March 25-26 at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif.
Jamal was an NCISAA all-state and All-Carolinas Athletic Association player last spring. He was the MVP of last year’s CAA championship team.
Jamal’s father, Robert P’23, has been an assistant coach for Christ School basketball’s last two state-championship teams (2023 and 2024).
The Pathway to Progression Program was launched in 2023 with an aim to support the identification and development of junior and collegiate golfers from historically under-represented communities.
