Everyone with a vested interest sees nothing but upside for the athletic future of Eyob Gill ’24.

Which would mean his college career will look very much like high school.

Christ School coach Randy Ashley agrees with the assessment of the staff at Howard University that one of his top runners can compete at the Division I level – Eyob has verbally committed to the Bison cross country and track programs.

“Eyob really stepped up for us, especially in cross country,” Coach Ashley said.

“He’s a young runner in a lot of respects and in a good spot to really make some headway in the spring and also at the collegiate level. Howard flew in his family for an official visit and made him a really nice offer.”

Eyob’s best race as a Greenie was this fall’s NCISAA 4-A state cross country meet. He placed third individually with a personal record of 15:46.80, making the all-state team for the second time. He was a three-time all-conference runner in the Carolinas Athletic Association.

Eyob’s hometown is Lincoln, Mass., and he is a Proctor in Cuningham House this year. He has attended Christ School since the eighth grade.
