Thank you to the Asheville Tourists Baseball Club for naming our very own James Uhler as Friday’s Telco Community Credit Union Teacher of the Game!
He was recognized prior to Friday night’s game at McCormick Field, the 2024 season opener for Asheville’s Class A minor league baseball team.
Mr. Uhler has been at Christ School since 2002 and became Associate Dean of Academics starting with the 2022-23 school year.
He has made a lasting impression on a countless number of young Greenies as the Eighth Grade Coordinator, taught History, and coached multiple sports in his two-plus decades on the faculty.
The following is taken from Mr. Uhler’s nomination for the Telco award:
“James lives and works at Christ School so that means he is a teacher 24 hours a day. As a history teacher, he gently guides and mentors our students. As an administrator, he manages other faculty and staff to also work with our students to the best of their ability. He is kind, funny, smart and the kids respect him. He makes history interesting and fun for the students and work fun for those who work with him.”
