Mr. Ben Dowling

Instructor, History
Outdoor Program (Journeymen)

Ben Dowling has been at Christ School since 2005, and one of the things he enjoys most is coaching the Quiz Bowl team. His passion is clearly paying off. The Greenies have competed in the Small School National Championship Tournament in Chicago the past two years, both firsts for the program.

Mr. Dowling is the History Department Chair and teaches the freshman World History course Empires & Encounters.

In addition to sponsoring several clubs, Mr. Dowling initiated the Journeymen program in 2015. It is an after-school activity that passes on Mr. Dowling’s personal interests in woodworking and shop skills to Greenies. Mr. Dowling earned a B.A. in American Studies from Montreat College, along with a History Department award. Before entering into education, Mr. Dowling was part of an internship program with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce.
