The Buncombe County Track Championships were held on Monday April 1 @ AC Reynolds High School. Under bright blue skies, with a chill breeze, the Greenies track team employed their full squad for the 1st time this season. The meet had 11 boys teams made up of 7 public schools and 4 private schools. With a fantastic group effort, the Christ School track team won the meet 173.5-109.5 over Asheville High.
Leading the way for the Greenies was Captain Keyvaun Cobb. Keyvaun won the 200 and 400 meter dashes, and anchored the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 teams to victory. Keyvaun's win in the 400 meters was his 3rd consecutive victory at this meet. Also competing strong was the Christ School track stalwart Kevin Snyder. Kevin won the the long jump and the triple jump. He also placed 4th in the 100 meter dash and anchored the 4 x 100 meter relay team to a 2nd place finish. Kevin finished out his 4th Buncombe County Track Championships with 9 individual titles. Also, Aydan White won the 110 meter hurdles to earn his 3rd consecutive win in this event. And congratulations to Christ School newcomer Cade Mintz.
