On Saturday, October 29, Christ School and Asheville School will face off in the 90th Game of a rivalry that dates back to 1911. Kickoff is at 1:30p.m. on Fayssoux Field.

Christ School is proud to recognize Weller Kreimer '19, Ethan Dishner '18, and Coleman Davis '18, three outstanding young men who earned the President's Volunteer Service Award during the last year. The award is the premiere volunteer awards program in the United States and encourages citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.

For its fall production, Christ School Theater will perform an Evening of One Acts featuring Green, an original piece written by local playwright Travis Lowe, and a cutting of Greater Tuna, a comedy written by Ed Howard, Jaston Williams, and Joe Sears. Both one act plays will be entered into the North Carolina Theater Conference Festival this fall. The Evening of One Acts will run from October 21-23 at 7:30pm in Pingree Theater. Admission is free and open to the public. For information call 828.684.6232.

Christ School Greenies Wade Mouer '17 and Zach Pulsifer '17 have been named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. They earned this designation by scoring in the top 1% of the 1.6 million juniors nationwide who took the 2015 PSAT. They are now eligible to continue in the competition for scholarships and designation as National Merit Scholars.

Christ School opened the 2016-17 school year on Saturday, August 20, 2016 with 293 boys arriving on campus, surpassing last year's record enrollment of 271 students. This year we welcome students from fifteen states and eleven foreign countries.

From May 26-June 3, 2016, Christ School students embarked on a trip called "The Last Days of World War II." 25 Christ School students retraced the path of American soldiers from London to Berlin exploring the military challenges and personal experiences of 1944-1945.

Bennett David '18 has won the William T. Hornaday Silver Medal in Conservation, the highest Boy Scouts of America award for conservation and the rarest award in scouting. Only 134 silver medals have been awarded since its creation by American zoologist and conservationist Dr. William T. Hornaday in 1914. Only two other medals have been awarded in North Carolina. While more than 55,000 Eagle Scouts have been awarded this year, there have only been three Hornaday Silver Medals.

Families, students, and faculty gathered on Yard A on Friday, May 20 for Christ School's 116th Commencement Ceremony. Following the speeches, diplomas and Bibles were presented to each graduate by Headmaster Paul Krieger, Academic Dean Joe Mouer, and Chaplain Kirk Brown.

Christ School Theater is proud to present Lord of the Flies by Nobel Prize winner William Golding, adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams. This play, not often produced in the United States, is directed by Mary Dillon with Artistic Direction by Sarah Baldwin. Lord of the Flies runs May 12-15 at Pingree Theater on the Christ School campus. Performances begin with a matinee on Thursday, May 12 at 4:30. Evening performances are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7:30 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
