Bennett David '18 was awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal on June 21, 2017 at a ceremony at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. To win a Gold Medal in the program, Bennett completed over 400 hours of voluntary service, over 200 hours of personal development, over 200 hours working on a physical fitness goal, and planned and completed a wilderness expedition that took him on a 95-mile, twelve-day hike in Cimarron, New Mexico.

Christ School won the State Championship game against #3 Charlotte Country Day 18-2, making Christ School history. With a #1 ranking in North Carolina, the Greenies earned the right to host the playoff run.

Families, students, and faculty gathered on Yard A on Friday, May 20 for Christ School's 117th Commencement Ceremony.

In a few days the Class of 2017 will march across Yard A to receive their diploma and Bible, marking the end of their Christ School experience. Beyond the Gatehouse are the fine colleges and universities at which they have chosen to continue their education. This year, 61 Greenies will depart Christ School ready to succeed in colleges and universities around the country.

As the school year comes to an end, so do the spring sports seasons. Christ School baseball, lacrosse, golf, and track and field look to complete career years with deep postseason runs.

Christ School Theater's Spring production is the experimental Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes) by Greg Allen. The production will run May 11-14, 2017 in Pingree Theater. Doors open at 7:09 pm for registration, games, and snacks, and seating begins at 7:30 pm.

The Christ School community is brimming with talented artists and writers, and nowhere is this more evident than in the Struan, the school's annual journal of art and creative writing. On its pages, you'll find the inspired creations of students and faculty.

On April 21–22, 2017, Christ School hosted its third Mother/Son Weekend. Greenie moms enjoyed mingling while spending meaningful time with their sons.

Over Easter break in mid-April, trip leaders Mrs. Olga Mahoney and Mr. Leigh Harris took nine Greenies to Virginia to revisit and honor American military history. As part of a service component linked with the trip, Christ School students will be researching the names of every one of the 4,413 fallen during D-Day and building a database – the first one to include this information all in one place.
