Christ School routs Wesleyan Christian 81-40 to advance to the semi-finals of the NCISAA Tournament on Friday, 2/26 at 5:30 p.m. at Greensboro Day School and will face Forstyth Country Day. The Greenies had 12 different players score, hit 13 shots from behind the arc and had 29 assists for the game. The defense held Wesleyan to only 15 points in the 2nd half. Eric Smith (four 3-pointers) led all scorers with 18 pts and TD Dixon had 11 pts.
The Greenies started the game with a 6-0 lead on back-to-back 3-pointers by Damarcus Harrison and Brandon Lopez. The Trojans closed to within 2 pts, but Christ School closed the quarter well and led 17-10 after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Greenies hit 5 more 3-pointers, quickly opened up their first 10 point lead and took control of the game. Eric Smith opened the quarter with two 3-pointers to help put the Greenies up 23-12 with 7:02 to play in the half. By the time the game went to the break, Christ School led 42-25 and was in complete control of the tempo.
In the 3rd quarter the Greenies went on a 14-0 scoring spurt as the team hit four 3-pointers in just over 3:00 minutes of play and had their first 30 point lead at 57-27 with 3:19 to play in the quarter. With Christ School up 59-33 heading into the final quarter, the Greenies scored the first 7 pts and never looked back as they finished with the easy 81-40 win.
Christ School will Forsyth Country Day, who beat Greensboro Day, in the Semi-Finals.
