Event Recap: Christ School rolled to an easy 99-69 victory over Asheville Christian in CAA Conference play. The Greenies improved to 23-6 for the season and 7-0 in Conference play. Christ School outscored the Lions in every quarter with solid defense and a balanced scoring attack. The Greenies had 4 players in double figures, led by Shannon Hale with 28 points. Jaylen Allen had 17 pts, Alec Wnuk 16 pts, and DJ Harvey 10 pts. Additionally, Lloyd Burgess had 9 pts, Jon Elmore 8 pts, Timmy Walker 7 pts, and Matt Cioce 4 pts.
Christ School used their defense to score 10 fast break points off turnovers in the 1st quarter and take a 26-18 lead. Hale had 12 points in the 1st quarter. The Greenies began to take control in the 2nd quarter and increased the lead to 44-26 until the Lions scored the final 5 points before the half to make the score 44-31 at the break.
Christ School started to pull away when Allen's 3-pointer made the score 59-41 with 3:36 left in the 3rd quarter. Then Hale capped the 3rd quarter with a late 3-pointer and the Greenies were up 71-49. In the first 2 minutes of the final quarter Christ School quickly went on an 11-3 scoring run. Hale started the scoring run with a dunk, Harvey hit a 3-pointer, Allen scored off a turnover, Hale made 2 FT's and Wnuk finished the run when he scored off a turnover that pushed the lead to 82-52. The Greenies were able to maintain that margin the rest of the game as everyone played.
