Tuition and Financial Aid

Overview
Each year Christ School invests in its future by allotting a portion of its budget to financial aid. In doing so, the School enrolls a population of students representative of the world in which we live. The primary objective of Christ School's financial aid program is to enroll students who would otherwise be unable to enroll; secondarily, the program's aim is to create a dynamic environment enriched by socioeconomic diversity.

2010-2011 Tuition Plan

Tuition, Room & Board $39,030

Merit-Based Assistance
Christ School offers a limited number of generous scholarships through its Headmaster's Scholarship Program. Ranging in value -- up to one-half tuition and fees for day students (approximate award up to $9,000) and up to one-half tuition, room, board and fees for boarding students (approximate award up to $18,000) -- the Headmaster's Scholarship Program recognizes boys who have a demonstrated record of academic excellence. Additionally, the program recognizes those who demonstrate leadership potential through participation in athletics, scouting, community service, spiritual pursuits, or other activities. Nominated candidates are invited to apply for consideration.

Need-Based Assistance
Families who wish to be considered for Christ School-sponsored need-based assistance should complete the Parents' Financial Statement administered by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid of the Educational Testing Service. Applications are available through the Christ School Office of Admission or can be submitted online here.

Please submit applications for need-based assistance by March 1, after which funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. (Note well: Before a student can be considered for or awarded financial aid, he must first apply for admission and be offered admission to Christ School. The decision to offer admission to a boy is not based upon the issue of consideration for financial assistance; one has no bearing on the other.)

If a family demonstrates need, as determined by the Parents' Financial Statement, Christ School then offers -- as funds allow -- a need-based grant. This grant, typically only a portion of demonstrated need, does not need to be repaid and is generally renewable from year-to-year. Subsequent years' awards are dependent upon a family demonstrating need annually, based upon the recipient making satisfactory academic progress (as defined in the Student Handbook), and is dependent upon the recipient maintaining good citizenship as a member of the Christ School community.

In addition to a completed and processed Parents' Financial Statement, each family is required to verify income by providing the appropriate year's federal tax return, including all schedules 1.
