Founded in 1900 and located in Asheville, NC, Christ School is an all-boys (8th- 12th grade) school affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Our 292 boys come from 15 states and seven foreign countries with a 75% boarding and 25% day student ratio. Our international population is 8.5% with 14% students of color. The school currently operates with a waiting list.

Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in the field in which they expect to teach, or strong academic preparation in that field. Advanced degrees, experience, and certifications are preferred but not required.

Academic Dean of Curriculum & Instruction
Christ School seeks an authentic, dynamic team player and motivated Academic Dean of Curriculum & Instruction who will unpretentiously provide leadership for our department chairs, faculty, and students. The Academic Dean must embrace the core of our academic program, yet fully recognize and advocate for materials, pedagogy, and practical skills which are needed to prepare our students for futures in business, art, entrepreneurship, technology, government, or non-profit work. Beginning in 2007, Christ School began incorporating project-based learning, portfolio development, public speaking, and experiential skill development with our traditional academic program. The new Academic Dean will be expected to further advance this trajectory as well as oversee annual faculty evaluations, and hiring. The Academic Dean will report directly to the Headmaster. The position’s compensation is commensurate with one’s experience and talent, along with benefits which include housing, health insurance, continuing education, and a TIAA 10% match. The Academic Dean is also eligible for the year-end performance bonus pool. Christ School seeks an authentic, dynamic, and motivated Director of Admission who will unpretentiously tell our story, attract talented young men, and establish relationships with parents, applicants, feeder schools, and the general public in a meaningful way. The Director of Admission reports directly to the Headmaster. Compensation is commensurate with experience and talent with benefits including a home, health insurance, continuing education, TIAA 10% match, and is eligible for the performance bonus pool. The Director of Admission must be a team player, have healthy collegial relationships, provide strategic direction with an emphasis on strong customer service.
