campus

Overview

On a boarding school campus there is always something going on and someone to do it with. With 215 teenage boys in grades 8-12 from a broad spectrum of backgrounds attending Christ School, there is constant activity ...a lot of good work and a lot of hard play goes on here.

The village-like campus has several different activity centers. The student residences have their own house-centered activities and intramural sports teams, but the new Patrick Beaver Student Center is the heart of most communal activity. This is a place where you can relax, play ping pong, foosball or pool, watch a movie, or eat a pizza with friends. When it is time for quiet reflection, there are places for that in the century-old chapel or the 500-acre wooded campus.

CS Snow - New Club for 2008

2007/2008 was the inaugural year for Christ School's seven-member Ski/Snowboard Team, CS Snow.  The team consisted of both skiers and snowboarders in all grade levels. They competed in the Cataloochee Interscholastic Race Series, which included of 11 area high schools.  Races were held weekly at Cataloochee Ski Resort in Maggie Valley, NC.

In addition to weekly races and weekend trips to other local resorts, they traveled to Sugar Mountain in Banner Elk, NC, Snowshoe, WV, as well as Keystone, Breckenridge, and Vail in Colorado. CS Snow members learned additional skills like the proper technique to hot wax and prepare their equipment specifically for races.

The team ended the season with a finish in the top four schools and look forward to competing next year!
