Athletics is considered an integral part of Christ School's educational program. The student-athlete is expected to meet the rigorous demands of our academic program as well as practice and game requirements. The athletic department's goal is not only to teach skills in various sports, but more importantly, to teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and the importance of hard work and dedication to accomplish these goals. Christ School athletics also teach students the life-long importance of maintaining good physical health.
Christ School is a member of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) and competes in all the traditional sports, along with lacrosse, in state level competition. The football team participates in the seven team Carolina Piedmont Football Conference along with Asheville School, First Assembly School of Concord, Forsyth Country Day, Northside Christian, SouthLake Christian and Hickory Grove. The other varsity teams will compete in the Carolina Athletic Association (CAA) for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year.
